The Journey Starts Here!

Lucy had just come from the professor's lab, happy as she could be. She was finally out of her parent's clutches, and everything had gone great at the lab. She had to kick in the door, but the professor finally agree to giving her the starter pokemon. The safe-size pokeball hung on her waist, and Lucy grabbed it and held it in her hands. The pokemon had met her briefly, but they hadn't really spent any time as of now. She enlarged it and let the pokeball slip from her hands to burst open and let the Squirtle out. She kneeled and got near-eye height with the pokemon.

It looked at her curiously and she smiled, "My name's Lucy, 'kay? I'm gonna be your trainer from here on out. Can I call you Squirt?" The pokemon stared at her and slowly nodded, feeling a little more comfortable with her. "Good." She laughed and led it towards the outskirts of town, ready to level up a little. "If you see a Buneary, let me know." She turned and they both nodded in agreement, searching for anything to battle. Lucy wasn't the type of girl to let her pokemon be weak and scared, so this little time was definitely going to be for leveling up. They weren't leaving until she felt satisfied.

The sun was shining brightly over the town. Praz specifically was getting a ton of heat, so any pokemon that could be underground was. It was a pretty small town so most of the pokemon knew each other and sometimes every played with each other when those pestering humans weren't around. Of course, when they were feeling a little daredevilish they'd play pranks on the people passing by. Today was one of those days.

All the pokemon noticed a new face around the town. It wasn't everyday that a trainer received a new pokemon and stuck around to train in Praz Town. Especially when people knew what the pokemon where like. A pokemon wormed its way around town following the brown haired girl and her funny looking pokemon. It had already made plans with some other pokemon, and they were all in position. The Wurmple shot a sticky string at Lucy's feet tying them together. Two small Bidoof came out behind a tree towards the squirtle who was looking at Lucy in awe. The two Bidoof jumped on top of Squirtle, who fell on its face. The Wurmple stood on Lucy's head and laughed along with the Bidoof at the silly human trying to capture one of them.

Lucy was hoping for a good encounter 'C'mon Buneary!' but instead she had to settle something with the annoying pokemon first. She had wanted to skip over that part, but everywhere she went she was running into pokemon that didn't interest her at all. Then again, it could be pretty good practice for her and Squirt to start battling, but she hadn't thought about it at first. When the String Shot wrapped up her feet, she began yanking violently, hating to be restricted. "Ugh! Disgusting!" That's when the two Bidoofs ambushed her pokemon and a damn bug planted itself on her head.

Her pokedex ringed a couple of times, gaining the new info on each of the opponents. Lucy ignored it and gripped at the Wurmple on her head, pulling it off her head. "You little freak!" Lucy yelled, but held it tight between her hands instead of flinging it off. It felt funny there in her hands, but she wanted it to watch it's "plan" fall apart. "Squirt! Don't let those two losers get the best of you! Tail Whip one in the face, and Tackle the other!" Lucy commanded quickly, still clutching the Wurmple. "You messed with the wrong girl," she snapped, turning her attention back to the scene before them.

The ringing of the pokedex startled the Wurmple, even though she had heard it several times before, and it was about to run away but hands wrapped around it. It yelped desperately hoping the Bidoof would look up and help. Bidoof 1 got smacked on the face and fell on its face, but it quickly got back up and charged at the Squirtle making the blue pokemon stumble forward as Bidoof 2 ran towards the girl who was still lying on the floor. It ran towards Lucy's hands freeing the Wurmple. These Pokemon were small, but they were definitely tough. They stood in a row in front of the girl and her squirtle.

This had never happened towards them. Nobody ever dared touch Wurmple's creepy, crawly body. And people were usually just repulsed by Bidoof enough to just take their pokemon and run away. So maybe they needed a better plan in the future. Right now it didn't matter, they had to get away. Wurmple jumped forward and shot a single needle of poison hitting the edge of Squirtle's shell.

The two Bidoof hid behind the Wurmple. They may have been bigger in size, but they were way weaker. Bidoof 1 was already feeling tired after taking the hit to the face. Bidoof 2 on the other hand just wanted to get out of there, but they didn't want to abandon their friend.

Lucy yelped in shock when the Bidoof had the nerve to free her captive from her hands. She reached in her small purse quickly to get her favorite nail file out. The point was sharp enough that she could begin to cut at the string, slowly setting herself loose. It was process, though. "Ugh, this is so stupid. That's why nobody's out here, stupid Wurmple!" Lucy glared at the pokemon trio in front of her just as Squirtle was readying itself again. "Okay Squirt, Tackle them all at once!" The Squirtle ran off behind her, after it its shell had been hit. It didn't think to much about it, seeing as the shell was really tough.

Lucy thought of an idea and reached into her purse again, getting a small mirror out. She stopped trying to stab at the string and opened the mirror up and directed it up toward the sun, the ray making it shine really bright. She hoped this would either blind or distract the pokemon, as Squirtle was climbing up on her head and jumping off to try a sky Tackle on top of the three pokemon. As it reached the peak of its jump, Lucy put the mirror back and went back to cutting herself free, hoping things would turn out how she wanted them.

The Wurmple looked frantically at its two best friends when the Squirtle jumped up for a tackle. They all looked at each other frightened. Wurmple told them something in their pokemon language and the two Bidoof nodded hesitantly and ultimately moved out of the way. Wurmple looked back up at the Squirtle and shot several streams of string. The string wrapped around the squirtle as it moved down rapidly towards the Wurmple. A ball of string was created around the body of the Squirtle as it landed on Wurmple. Wurmple fell back and got up very slowly and weakly it was almost done. The two Bidoof looked scared, but Bidoof 1 rushed towards Squirtle.

It hit it with its head and sent it flying to Bidoof 2. The Bidoof 2 hit it with its head and sent it back to Bidoof 1. They were weak, but they still loved being mischievous. Of course Squirtle wasn't taking much damage due to all the string around it, but it was obviously making it frustrated. The Bidoof and Wurmple, on the other hand were having the time of their life. It was almost time, though. Time to retreat, they'd make a fool of the girl and her pokemon and had to get away now.

Lucy was watching the scene, and scoffed loudly. That was a cheap move. She had thought her little plan would work but apparently it hadn't so it made her even more frustrated. On the bright side, she was free! The girl scrambled to her feet and was about to kick the pokemon into next week, but knew this was only good training for Squirt. If was gonna be the best of the best, he needed to get stronger! Lucy backed away, and Squirt saw her, wondering where she was going. She winked at him to let him know she was up to something, and when she was out of reach of any attack from the pokemon, she cupped her mouth and began yelling.

"SQUIRT! Roll in the air! When you get tossed back, roll faster so you can knock one of those fools out! Then use that String Shot to your advantage! Keep rolling and make em' your targets!" Lucy cheered for him, hoping he understood what she wanted him to do. If he could roll a little faster as he was being passed back and forth, he could catch a Bidoof off guard, knock it out, and use bounce off of it to hit the other one square in the body. Then he could just roll over until he hit the Wurmple, and maybe finally they could have some peace and quiet for once.

That Buneary was still out there, and Lucy was determined to find it. She wasn't going to let this trio keep her or Squirt down!

Squirtle retreated into its shell as it was in the air. Bidoof 2 hit it once again sending it towards Bidoof 1. The pokemon in its shell began to spin rapidly as it was diving towards Bidoof 1. The Bidoof moved forward to hit the spinning ball of string, but instead it got hit in the face once again with the sharpness. The Bidoof was sent back and it fainted. The other Bidoof yelped a little at the sight of its brother fainting. It ran directly towards it. Squirtle landed on the floor and instantly the string fell off completely. It looked at the other Bidoof running towards Bidoof 1 and tackled its side. It was sent back towards the Wurmple standing by.

The Wurmple helped Bidoof 2 up and glared at the Squirtle. It was getting weak, but it still had a fight in her. It was going to defend this Bidoof all it could. It wasn't going to let it get the same fate as its brother. Obviously they'd all be okay in time, but he didn't want his other best friend to get hurt anymore by this shrew. It dodged the Squirtle's tackle and used a poison sting. The needles went directly towards the blue pokemon's body and hit it several times. Fortunately, they hadn't poisoned the shelled pokemon.

Lucy was seriously getting agitated. She even had to restrain herself from going all Primeape shit on these pokemon! Squirt was getting a little annoyed too, and she hoped that would motivate him to end this as quickly as they could. It was a little warm outside, and they could use a tiny break after this. Lucy brushed her hair behind her shoulders and pointed to Wurmple accusingly. "You're gonna get it! Squirt, here!" She opened her arms and the Squirtle jumped in quickly after getting hit with the Poison Sting. She checked him and it didn't poison him and then whispered quietly one more idea that she had.

Squirt understood, (thankfully) and it jumped down, getting itself ready. It shrunk back into its shell and Lucy picked it up, aiming at the two remaining foes. She held it and then swiped it quickly like a bowling ball, and the shell picked up speed as it got closer and closer to Wurmple and Bidoof. Hopefully it would hit one, to send it flying up and knocking it out, and then Squirt would spring into action by jumping out of its shell, using Tail Whip on the remaining foe when catching it off guard and then finish with a Tackle.

The Wurmple knew it was over. Being the oldest in the trio she knew when to give up. She used string shot to reel the other Bidoof in and continued using it to wrap all three of them up into a ball. They'd all still get hurt, but this way it'd be less painful and they would remain together for a while. This girl, though. She was number one on their list now, they'd find her again and make her life miserable. Her and her damned Squirtle. They didn't know how they were going to do it, but they'd do it somehow. They would not let her get away with this unjust act. They were just trying to have a little fun, there was no need for all the violence that had occurred.

The spinning Squirtle slid quickly towards the trio wrapped in string. The space between the four closed in and in no time the ball of string was sent flying through the air. It had been an extra critical hit and sent them straight up in the air. The group flew up and away until they became a little glimmer in the sky and you couldn't see them anymore. They had blasted off.

Lucy raised a hand over her eyes as she watched the trio blast in the air, in complete awe. She hadn't expected them to go that far, but it didn't matter anymore. Thankfully she would never have to see those awful pokemon ever again! She would be in another city, and they would still have to stay here. She let Squirt sit there and chew on a berry she already had stored, Lucy decided to do a little investigating, going deeper into the grass. That damned pokemon had to be here somewhere! The deeper she went, the less she could see Squirt.

Lucy wasn't even thinking about it though, seeing as she only focused on the task at hand. With the pokemon, he was sitting down and had just finished the berry Lucy had given him. Squirt then busied himself, rolling around on his shell, sliding back and forth. He was enjoying himself a little, until he realized Lucy had walked off. He stood, suddenly alert and serious. He searched for her, and spotted a figure in the distance, with brown hair. It must be her! He slowly made his way in that direction until he heard her scream and broke out into a sprint. She must have encountered a pokemon!

(Darn right.)

(Remember, Squirtle's getting weak and you still have to go through the meadows to get to a Pokemon Center. He also only leveled up once, so he doesn't know bubble just yet.)

The pokemon that had seen the outcome of the Wumdoof Trio's prank on the brunette were shocked at what had happened to them. They usually managed to get away with things, but they'd been defeated this time. Several Pokemon hid away from the mean girl and her pokemon, but others decided to do something about it. Now was the time; Squirtle was weak and the girl was probably very frustrated. They waited for a moment to strike. The girl walked away from her pokemon and closer to the grass. It saw its opportunity, the pokemon that was friends with the Trio that had just been blasted off. It would help get revenge. Then it struck.

The small snake pokemon wrapped around the annoying girl's leg. It didn't want to hurt her that much. It just wanted to scare her off and leave the Pokemon of Praz Town alone, and never ever ever come back. It slithered itself up the girl's leg until it was wrapped around her torso constricting her hands to her body rendering her basically immobile. It looked at the Squirtle running her way waiting for it to make eye contact so that it could scare it away as well..

Lucy was getting a little tired. It didn't help that even though Squirt didn't seem all that hungry, he did look a little beat up. She sighed, knowing she'd have to leave soon, and that was fine with her. Unless they didn't achieve something. They might not have found a Buneary, but at least Squirt got a little practice in. She was just about to turn around in disappointment when she felt something slide up her leg and wrap around her body quickly. Now, Lucy had a special place in her heart for all pokemon, but not ones who wanted to squeeze the life out of her!

She yelled in surprise and looked right at the pokemon in complete disgust. She couldn't walk, so she just opted for jumping, and silently hoped her face wouldn't scratch after this next move. Lucy jumped as far and high she could with the Ekans wrapped around her, getting closer to Squirt. Squirt lunged when she fell, but then she realized that maybe when she landed so hard, the snake would get hurt and loosen its grip. "Squirt, Tackle! With your shell!" Lucy commanded quickly, and Squirt aimed for the pokemon's head since that was closest, and turned around to throw itself at its target.

Lucy watched him, hoping he succeeded to damage the snake. If she could command him to use his body and attacks swiftly and smoothly, not only would he still be conscious, but she could see how she wanted him to be for upcoming Contests. Always thinking ahead; always.

The Ekans wrapped tightly against the girls body. Lucky snake. It wasn't letting go even with all the jumping. It was taken by surprise when the girl was willing to hurt herself by falling on her body only to hurt the Ekans. The snake pokemon hissed in pain and its body fell off of the girl. It slowly raised its head and shook it a little to regain consciousness. Then it saw the Squirtle coming towards her. Quickly, it freed itself from under the girl and jumped towards the incoming shell. It managed to wrap its tail around it and throw it back at the girl.

Fortunately, Squirtle landed on a nice soft spot on Lucy's head and landed hard with its shell. The snake pokemon turned around and slithered rapidly towards Lucy. It put its purple head against hers and closed its eyes, then opened them to reveal red dilated pupils. Leer. Instinctively the girl moved back away from the Ekans. In response the snake pokemon simply hissed in satisfaction. It was done with them. It wasn't like they'd manage to hurt her much anymore anyways, she was too quick and a hell of a pokemon. It began to slither away back into the tall grass hoping the strange girl would take the hint.
