History: Cecilia grew up in the mountaintop town of Snowpoint City, the coldest, most inhospitable climate in all of Sinnoh. Her brother, Shockley, was the gym leader of the town at the time, a specialist in ice type Pokémon and a feared and respected leader of the Sinnoh league. Cecilia decided at a young age that she wanted to follow in her brother's footsteps and become a master of ice types when she was finally old enough to embark on a journey of her own. She learned to hate the cold, however, when her first ever Pokémon, an Eevee, wandered away one night and disappeared, presumably killed by the harsh, year-round barrage of hail pummeling the mountainside.

When she at last turned 10, she busted out of Snowpoint like a Zubat out of hell, taking with her a Gastly and a vengeance against the cruel judgment of mother nature and all the ice type Pokémon that embodied it. Over the course of several years, she climbed to the top of the ladder, finally managing to defeat Cynthia herself as she became Sinnoh's Pokémon Champion. Her success was short lived, however, as only a few months later her seat was taken from her by a young man a little older than she was, sending her back to Snowpoint. She took her brother's place as Gym Leader for a while, converting the Gym to a Fire Type gym, much to the surprise of the trainers who came up the mountain to challenge her for the badge. The League eventually ruled that she had to step down from her position as Gym Leader because so few trainers were able to defeat her seasoned team and move on to take on Victory Road.

Depressed and deciding that Sinnoh held nothing more for her, Cecilia entrusted her beloved team to Shockley and set out to explore more of the Pokémon world, her travels eventually leading her to the new and exciting Elix Region.

Personality: Cecilia inarguably has a personality more suited to being a Pokémon researcher than a trainer, but her passion for all manner of competition seems to ensure that she will never take that less-traveled, non-confrontational path. On her journeys, though, she does what she can to further her own knowledge of Pokémon and the world in general. Her above-average intellect also lends itself to superior training and battle strategies, often giving her Pokémon an edge in battle. (Basically, if this were a game, she would EV train.)

Cecilia doesn't take losing well, be it in a Pokémon battle or failing to capture a Pokémon that she had been trying to capture, though her temper is otherwise very good. She is extremely kind and caring toward all Pokémon, especially canine Pokémon, though she has some trouble dealing with other people due to her tendency to come off as a derisive, often sarcastic snob. If she senses that a person mistreats their Pokémon, she will confront them, whether or not her own Pokémon are capable of defeating them.
